My name is Andrew Yang. I am an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania studying statistics, finance, and math. I love programming because I love problem solving. I spend much of my free time coding everything from C to Java to Matlab.
Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, playing sports, working out, and playing cards.
My favorite artists are O.A.R. and Vertical Horizon, so you could say that I enjoy somewhat alternative music. My favorite songs are Shattered, This Town, and Love and Memories, all by O.A.R. Guster, Lifehouse, The Fray, The Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, Jason Mraz, Matchbox 20, Matt Costa, Oasis, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, 3 Doors Down, and Rascal Flatts are also great artists. Let me know if you have any recommendations.
I have played many sports in the past from soccer to rugby to Ultimate. I wasn’t very good at soccer which is why I stopped that. Rugby was unbelievably fun but too dangerous to keep playing in college. Ultimate also had its moments. However, I had to give it up in what I call one of the most difficult decisions in my life for badminton. I absolutely love badminton. I started in college and can’t stop playing. It’s great exercise, comparable to rugby and soccer. For those of you who don’t believe me, play someone who knows what they are doing and you will be exhausted after a few points. Give it a shot, badminton is a highly underrated sport in many countries like the US.
Playing cards is another one of my hobbies. My favorite card games are actually Chinese ones but Texas Hold’em and BlackJack are also up there. All three of my applications came about because after playing the respective games, questions arose. I wanted to know what my chances of certain outcomes happening were. Programming arose as a way to answer them.
If you find any bugs with any of my applications, please let me know by leaving a comment below. I will update my binary with a fix as soon as possible. If you have any suggestions about my current applications or ideas for any future applications, also let me know. Please make sure to leave your e-mail address so I know how to contact you.
